Oakley Surf Shop Challenge: The Road to Nicaragua
Oakley’s Surf Shop Challenge was a long-running competition that brought local surf shops head-to-head in a unique and exciting contest. Winners of the regional events earned a trip to Nicaragua to compete in the national finals.
My role was to document the entire journey, capturing the energy of the competition and the camaraderie between the surfers. Over the course of a year, I traveled with the athletes, forging close bonds that made this project especially meaningful.
As the sole filmmaker, I handled everything—from shooting and producing to editing—working directly with Oakley’s leadership to ensure the final product aligned with their vision. This video showcases the journey of the top shops as they battle for the national title.
